Dr Sue Cockman

Dr Cockman has a Doctorate of Educational Psychology, Master of Clinical Psychology and a Master of Education (special education, inclusion and early intervention). She is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists and the College of Clinical Psychologists. Dr Cockman is an AHPRA registered supervisor of provisional psychologists and registrars in both areas of endorsed practice.

Dr Cockman has almost two decades of experience working within public hospitals, government and private schools, and in private practice. In the past, Dr Cockman has travelled extensively through remote Australia visiting Indigenous communities with a focus on environmental health. Dr Cockman has an integrated approach to psychological therapy and practical support.

Dr Cockman has authoredpeer-reviewed journal articles on problem gambling and family violence. She hasgiven conference presentations of case studies in integrated therapy and casemanagement, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field. Dr Cockman hasextensive experience in assessing and supporting those with developmentalproblems, including social and emotional difficulties, educational problems andadaptive behaviour. She uses a family systems approach to working withrelational problems within families and workplaces. Dr Cockman has a particularinterest in working in trauma therapy with a focus on eye movementdesensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
